Profile

Engitec Technologies is an Italian engineering company based near Milan, specialising in the design, supply and construction of plants for lead-acid battery recycling and non-ferrous metal recovery. It has been active in lead-battery recycling technology since the 1970s.

The company designs and builds complete plants for recovering lead from spent lead-acid batteries, including battery breaking, smelting, refining and its own patented hydrometallurgical and electrochemical processes (such as its FAST and Flubor processes) aimed at cleaner, lower-emission lead recovery. It supplies secondary lead smelters worldwide and has delivered plants including to Moura in Brazil.

Engitec sits in the equipment and technology tier of the lead-battery supply chain, enabling the recycling that produces most of the world's lead.
