Profile

Inventus Power is a US manufacturer of advanced lithium-ion battery packs and power systems, founded in 1960 and headquartered in Woodridge, Illinois, near Chicago. It is one of the largest lithium-ion battery pack makers in North America.

Rather than making cells, the company designs and builds custom and standard battery packs, battery-management systems, smart chargers and power supplies, engineered into its customers' products for long, mission-critical use. It works across a wide range of markets, aerospace and defence, medical, industrial and fleet, and consumer, and takes a chemistry-agnostic approach, matching the battery to the application.

With more than 60 years in the industry, Inventus was an early adopter of lithium-ion when it commercialised in the 1990s, and now operates manufacturing across several countries and continents, supported by in-house engineering, testing and safety certification. In 2026 it was acquired by the investment firm H.I.G. Capital.
